Soprano Audrey Fernandez-Fraser specializes in early sacred and liturgical music. At home in the European Baroque, she enjoys a range of styles from Byzantine chant and American gospel music to Nama hymns and Franco-Russian Orthodox music.
In 2022, alongside organist Janet Sora Chung, she co-founded the Christopher Street Collegium, which presents musical Vespers services featuring Baroque masterpieces by Buxtehude, Bach, Couperin, and others, interwoven with historic congregational Lutheran chorales, Psalms, and spoken word.
In addition to regular worship services around town, Audrey has appeared as a soloist with ensembles such as the Christopher Street Collegium, Gamut Bach Ensemble of the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, the Choir of St. Ignatius of Antioch, St. Peter's Bach Collegium, the Westchester Oratorio Society, and the Art of the Early Keyboard (ARTEK). She recently gave her first Gotham Early Music Scene (GEMS) Midtown Concert Series solo recital with ARTEK founder and early keyboard specialist Gwendolyn Toth, featuring several recently-discovered devotional arias by “Carlo G.” Learn more at www.audreyfernandezfraser.com.
