Lisa Kumaradjaja is a versatile musician with a passion for both vocal and instrumental performance. As a soprano, she studied professionally for over a decade with esteemed voice teachers such as Arabella Hong Young, Zoe Vandermeer, Ira Spaulding, and Jennifer Marshall. Over the past 22 years, she has performed with a variety of choral and choir groups and served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Choral Arts Society for five years.
Lisa Kumaradjaja is the founder and music director of the Early Music Chamber Singers group, which she established due to her love of performing vocal polyphony in a small ensemble setting.
In addition to her vocal pursuits, Lisa is an accomplished violinist who studied for 11 years and 7 years professionally with Harold Coletta, a member of the New York Philharmonic and NBC Orchestra under Arturo Toscanini. She has also worked as a violin instructor in her private studio, teaching students ages 5-20 for three years.
As the manager and director of the string quartet ensemble Columbine, Lisa has performed musical entertainment and accompaniment in various musical styles from classical to pop in New York City and the surrounding tri-state area. She has also appeared in numerous concert series and performances, including the Palisade Chamber Players' Summer Concert Series, a Columbine classical concert at Friedwald House in New City, NY, a Columbine Cabaret performance at Rockland Center for the Arts in West Nyack, NY, and a Columbine performance titled “Les Chanteuse” at the Citicorp Center – The Market Atrium in NYC, among others.
Lisa also has a background in music theory, having studied for two years at the college level with nationally known jazz composer Arthur Cunningham, and has two years of piano study to her credit. With her diverse background and extensive experience in the music industry, Lisa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her work as a musician and instructor.
